At Virgo Web Design, we look forward to a few important things every summer in Chicago; warm weather, wearing shorts, the beach, festivals, and JoomlaDay Chicago, to name a few. Well, JoomlaDay Chicago is upon us this Saturday, the 9th. This event attracts Joomla enthusiasts worldwide, and has a jam-packed schedule of speakers talking about Joomla news, tutorials, and advice on best practices. This year, it begins right after the Joomla Developer Conference (also hosted in Chicago) finishes up.
The topics covered range from beginner to advanced, so whether you’re new to Joomla or an expert, this event will have something to offer for you. For a list of speakers and the full schedule, you can check out the JoomlaDay Chicago website. The event goes from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and usually some of the attendees will hang out afterwards and have some fun in Chicago!
One of the great things about this event is the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the authorities in the Joomla community. It’s also interesting to meet someone that you may have interacted with in the past on some forum, or even a developer that you’ve purchased a Joomla extension from. The internet is such a vast, informative realm, but it’s also very impersonal. Events like this one help connect Joomla’s community, and help strengthen the comradery of Joomla developers. If you’re a Joomla enthusiast, whether you’re in Chicago or not, I highly recommend attending this event! Even if you can’t make it to this one, keep a lookout for upcoming events, which can be found on Joomla’s website. Should you be planning on attending JoomlaDay Chicago, I recommend that you don’t go unnoticed – spark a conversation, make some new friends and/or alliances, and make the most of your experience.
So, will you be attending this year? We hope to see you there! Tweet to hashtag #jd14ch and get in on the conversations about the event.
